Pseudotumor CerebriS

Pseudotumor Cerebri is a condition seen in young women that is characterized by increased pressure inside the head, not caused by a brain tumor that manifests with optic disc edema and sometimes double vision. This disorder may be caused by a variety of entities including abnormal blood clotting, ingestion of medications such as tetracycline and high doses of vitamin A. The disease may also follow an ear infection or may be due to totally unknown causes. If left untreated, patients may slowly strangle their optic nerve and become blind.
